SECCF in Croatia

The Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade (Belgrade, Serbia-Montenegro) and South European Center for Contemporary Finance (SECCF) invite you to apply to the 5th edition of our cutting-edge international graduate level program in advanced finance:
International Masters of Quantitative Finance (IMQF)
Our program features one academic year of coursework by luminaries such as one of the world most famous academic economists, Prof. Boyan Jovanovic(New York University), Prof. Robert H. Edelstein (University of California, Berkeley, USA), one of the world's top experts in the area of real estate investments, Dr. Ashok Deo Bardhan (University of California, Berkeley, USA), one of the leading World experts in the area of economics of outsourcing, Prof. Moshe Kim (University of Haifa, Israel), one of the leading experts in the area of Banking and Financial Institutions, to name just a few.
The IMQF program is steadily gaining international reputation. In 2006 alone, two of our students were
accepted, with full scholarships, into the top two European Ph.D. programs, London School of Economics and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. In addition, four of our students secured internships or employment in prestigious institutions such as the London Business School (London, UK), Barcalays Capital (London, UK), Amplitude Capital (London, UK), La Caixa (Barcelona, Spain), and Serfiex, S.A. (Madrid, Spain).
Starting the Academic 2006/2007, the IMQF program joined the University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, University of Toronto, ISMA Centre, and other world-reknowned institutions in endorsing PRMIA, the premier global association of risk managers. The IMQF now provides a complete preparation for the prestigious global Professional Risk Managers (PRM(TM)) certification exams on Levels I-IV (i.e. all levels). These exams are offered by PRMIA. An additional attractive feature of the IMQF program is that starting from the academic year 2005-2006, a strategic decision is made to incorporate into the program a significant fraction of the CFA Institute Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK)® curricumum. As a result, IMQF, in addition to the superb academic training it already provides, now incorporates, also, a thorough preparation for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® exams offered by the CFA Institute®.
The language of instruction is English and the venue is Belgrade, Serbia.
The enrollment is now open for the Academic Year 2007-2008. The program commences in October 2007. Early applications shall be treated favorably as the admissions decisions are made sequentially and the number of slots is limited. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply.

Dubrovnik Lectures in Banking and Finance (DBF)

We are pleased to invite you to the only world-class executive education program in banking and finance in our region, Dubrovnik Lectures in Banking and Finance(DBF). It is created recently as a joint venture of SECCF with Koločep-Island of Knowledge, a recently privatized hotel complex and education center. International Summer School, Rome, June 9-17, 2005

The Summer School will be held on June 9-17, 2005 in Villa Maraini, the prestigious location of Swiss Institute
in Rome.
The aim of this School is to present selected topics and advanced quantitative approaches in the area of
financial risk measurement and control. The event is targeted toward and audience of skilled professionals and
researchers with the aim to join both operational needs in financial engineering and risk management, with the
latest advances in academic research.
The first session of the School (June 9 – 11) will be devoted selected topics in Risk Measurement and
Structured Finance. The second session (June 13- 14) is devoted to Topics in Risk Management and Asset
Allocation. The third session (June 15) will focus on computational finance while, Energy Risk control and
optimization techniques will be the subject of the fourth session (June 16-17). Contributed papers will be
presented at the end of each session.
A selection of the contributed paper will be published in the Journal of Banking and Finance.
Participation of SCG nationals is FREE.

Internships in Madrid

The IMQF program has reached a sponsorship agreement with the Spanish financial services company Serfiex, one of the leading European providers of risk management and investment software and consulting solutions.
According to the agreement, Serfiex guarantees an internship in Madrid for at least one IMQF student each year, starting 2005. Serfiex internship program includes:
- Employment with Serfiex or one of their corporate partners in Madrid upon the completion of the coursework in the IMQF program for the duration from 2-5 months
- Permit to legally work in Spain for the duration of the Internship
- Valuable practical experience and contacts in Europe
- Possibility to write a Master Thesis related to the work performed during the internship
- Possibiltiy of securing employment in Serfiex or one of the their partner companies upon graduation.
In order to be considered for an Internship with Serfiex you have to be enrolled into the IMQF program and be in good academic standing. Knowledge of Spanish is NOT required to apply.

Potsdam Summer Academy

Dear Colleagues,
together with faculty members of the Faculty for Economics and Social Science at the University of Potsdam and supported by the German Academic Exchange Office (DAAD) we have implemented the Potsdam Summer Academy PoSA in “Banking, Insurance and the Public Sector: Empirical Experience and Policy Advice”. PoSA is taught for the second time in July 2005 for four weeks and being repeated in the following years with similar topics. Colleagues from the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), the Free University of Berlin, the Humboldt University and practitioners from politics and banking as well as insurance associations being located in Berlin are giving personal support. The program is directed to graduate and post-graduate students (including post-docs), stemming from our partner universities all over the world. It is also open on tuition basis for student from other international universities and will be taught in English. Several scholarships are available.

IMQF Research Colloqium in Economics and Finance

Faculty of Economics, in collaboration with SECCF invites you to participate in our new
IMQF Research Colloqium in Economics and Finance.
The purpose of the colloqium is to provide an on-going forum for an exchange of research ideas
between Serbian economists and their foreign counterparts on issues of particular relevance to Serbian, regional and the world economy. Colloqiums will be held
