Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and one of the oldest cities in Europe. It is located at the confluence of two international rivers: the Sava and the Danube. As the largest city in the region, it is the regional center of business, culture, dining, entertainment, education, and science. The city is also the seat of the University of Belgrade, founded in 1808.
Belgrade is centrally located in Europe and the SEE region, easily accessible from all major European cities. A number of low cost airlines fly to and from Belgrade on a regular basis. For young people, Belgrade is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the hottest spots for nightlife in Europe. In 2008, Belgrade was designated by the Financial Times as the “European city of the future”.
