The International Masters in Quantitative Finance (IMQF) is a one-year academic Masters program in advanced finance. Since its establishment in 2003, the IMQF program has become a benchmark of quality in academic finance and economics education in Serbia and the region. The program’s graduates are in great demand at leading financial institutions, companies, regulatory agencies and international organizations. Graduates who do not enter the workforce usually continue their education toward a Ph.D. degree at an elite international university or join the Ph.D. program at our Faculty. In 2007, the IMQF program was ranked among the top three European graduate programs in finance by the Russian journal Gazette. The IMQF program is accredited by the National Accreditation Commission of the Republic of Serbia and recognized in the EU countries, the US and elsewhere around the world.
The curriculum was developed in partnership with the Faculty of Economics, Belgrade. Prof. Branko Urošević, the program director since its inception and the founder of SECCF, is one of the pioneers of quantitative finance in Serbia and South Eastern Europe. Previously, he created and ran the Masters in Finance program at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.
The IMQF is a demanding program where each student receives individual attention from the faculty. The classes are taught in English, in the evening hours or on weekends, by renowned international faculty such as Prof. Boyan Jovanovic (New York University), Prof. Robert H. Edelstein (University of California, Berkeley, USA), and Prof. Diego Garcia (University of North Carolina) among many others. The program curriculum is supervised by a highly prestigious International Advisory Board.
The IMQF program is the only program in the SEE region that provides thorough preparation for all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams offered by the CFA Institute. SECCF is the only institution in South Eastern Europe registered with the CFA Institute as an Approved Program provider for Continuing Education of CFA Charterholders. In addition to the CFA preparation, the iMQF program provides a complete preparation for globally recognized risk management exams such as the PRM and FRM. Upon completion, students receive an official Masters degree from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade and can continue their education towards a Ph.D. degree in Finance or Economics at any prestigious university in Serbia or internationally.
